Millwall Community Trust (MCT) hosted two free tournaments between partner schools as part of our Schools Provision programme.
MCT work with a number of partner schools across Southwark, Lewisham, and Kent, delivering a variety of classroom interventions and practical sessions as part of its Premier League Primary Stars programme.
The first mini tournament that took place was between two of our schools who are in a federation with each other and was a girls’ only tournament with all participants showing excellent attitude throughout.
The second tournament which was once again hosted at The Lions Centre, was a Year 3 and Year 4 Tournament with seven schools in attendance.
The final was competed by Snowfields School and Oliver Goldsmith School with the match going to penalties before Oliver Goldsmith were crowned champions.
Following on from the tournament, Premier League Primary Stars Certificates - ‘be connected’, ‘be ambitious’, ‘be inspiring’ and ‘be fair’ - were handed out to the participants.
Millwall Community Trust’s Primary Stars & School’s Co-ordinator, Emily Poole said: “It was really nice to see two of our partner schools - who are in federation with each other - compete in what was a really competitive tournament.
“Both schools showed excellent levels of sportsmanship and the Premier League Primary Stars values which are ‘be connected’, ‘be ambitious’, ‘be inspiring’ and ‘be fair’.
“The second tournament was also excellent and all schools in attendance showed a superb level of sportsmanship as well as showing brilliant skill throughout too.”
“When you partner with Millwall Community Trust these are sort of brilliant opportunities you receive.”
