Millwall Community Trust (MCT) has been appointed to manage St Paul’s Sports Ground, Salter Road, for a further five years in the London Borough of Southwark. 

MCT have managed the site for the last eight years since becoming the leaseholders in 2016 - and will now continue the work at St Paul’s until 2029.

The facility, which underwent a £1m investment programme in 2014 is the home of local football team Fisher FC.

St Paul’s is also the home of Millwall Lionesses, Millwall Romans and Millwall Pride.

Millwall Community Trust (MCT) aims to provide local people and groups the opportunity to access the state-of-the-art football venue in a safe and positive environment.

MCT CEO Sean Daly and Fisher Chairman Jim Maycock alongside Millwall first-team players Shaun Hutchinson and George Honeyman and Fisher FC forward Kristian Cato-Barratt visited St Paul’s on Monday to officially unveil the new lease between MCT and Southwark Council.

Sean Daly, MCT CEO said: “I’m delighted that MCT has been appointed once again to manage St Paul’s Recreation Ground. 

“We will be looking to build on the work we are already doing in Southwark and believe that the St Paul’s Sports Ground will continue to be a tremendous asset for the local community.

"It's a key aim of Millwall Community Trust to provide local people with access to top quality facilities in a safe and positive environment. We will work in partnership with local schools and organisations to deliver football and active health programmes. 

"We are excited to deepen and strengthen our relationship with London Borough of Southwark, enabling an outreach focus for players of all ages. 

“We are also proud to continue to work with Fisher FC and keep supporting their development for the eventual handover of the facility.”

Jim Maycock, Chairman of Fisher FC said: “We are to delighted to be able to continue our work with the Community Trust who have been so supportive of the club over the last few years with their generous shirt and match ball sponsorship and their management of the ground.  

“We look forward to working together over the next few years on developing further shared initiatives to make the ground the centre of the local community."
