Millwall FC Stars Inspire St Francis Primary Students on World Food Day with Premier League Primary Stars.
Premier League Primary Stars, developed by the Premier League Charitable Fund and delivered locally by Millwall Community Trust (MCT), received a special boost this week. MCT’s Equality & Diversity Ambassador, Murray Wallace, and Millwall FC goalkeeper, Liam Roberts, paid a visit to St Francis Primary School as part of their support for World Food Day and the Premier League Primary Stars programme.
This national initiative harnesses the power of football and professional clubs like Millwall FC to inspire children to stay active, develop essential life skills, and enhance their learning. Through the programme, children and their communities benefit from lasting positive impacts in sports, health, and education.
At St Francis Primary School, MCT’s Primary Stars and Schools Coordinator, Emily Poole, led a session focused on the importance of balanced nutrition. Wallace and Roberts were on hand to support, sharing personal experiences about the role of a healthy diet in their professional lives. The players also held a lively Q&A session, giving the children a chance to ask their burning questions.
Tim Sells, MCT’s Football and Sports Development Manager, praised the event: “It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to meet Murray Wallace and Liam Roberts. Having first-team players speak on such an important topic really highlights the commitment of Millwall Community Trust to our local community. It will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on the children.”
