Millwall Football Club and Millwall Community Trust (MCT) staff delivered a workshop on Reporting Abuse and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) for Millwall Football Club’s First-Team and U21’s players yesterday morning.
Millwall Community Trust’s EDI & Safeguarding Lead Jason Vincent, Head of Security and Operations Neil Robinson, Safeguarding Lead at Millwall’s Academy Katie Whitmore and Millwall’s Designated Police Officer PC Sam Moore were all in attendance.
The workshop which was held at Millwall FC’s Training Ground - Calmont Road - was run in the morning.
Staff from both club and trust explained about reporting abuse, safeguarding, our values and the ethos around Equality, Diversity and Inclusion across both club and trust.
Jason Vincent, MCT’s EDI and Safeguarding Lead said: “It was excellent to be part of this very important briefing and to give the players the overview of the importance of EDI and our commitments for both club and trust to observe and practice these values on a daily basis on and off the pitch.
“As we are approaching the new season and planning our themed matches around EDI, having the opportunity to engage with the players was very timely before the beginning of the new campaign.
“I would like to thank Millwall FC’s first-team Head Coach Neil Harris for giving us the opportunity to engage with the players on this really important commitment to ensure that we all work together and put people first.”
