Millwall Community Trust’s (MCT) Education & Employment Ambassador, Casper De Norre, and Goalkeeper, Lukas Jensen, recently made a special visit to Phoenix Primary School in celebration of the European Day of Languages. The event, held as part of the Premier League Primary Stars programme, aimed to inspire children through the power of football while promoting the importance of language learning.

Premier League Primary Stars is a national initiative that harnesses the widespread appeal of football and clubs like Millwall FC to encourage children to be active, develop essential life skills, and engage in learning. Delivered by the Premier League Charitable Fund, the programme focuses on creating lasting positive impacts in sport, health, and education for young people and their communities.

During their visit, Casper De Norre and Lukas Jensen joined MCT’s Primary Stars and Schools Coordinator, Emily Poole, to lead a session focused on celebrating linguistic diversity and encouraging the children to explore different languages.

Both players shared their personal experiences with learning new languages, highlighting the value of multilingualism in both football and everyday life. Their insights provided an engaging and relatable perspective, showing the children how language skills can open doors to communication and connection with others.

The session ended with a lively Q&A, where the pupils had the chance to ask the players questions they had always wanted to know, creating a memorable and interactive experience.

Tim Sells, MCT’s Football and Sports Development Manager, praised the event, stating, "It was a fantastic afternoon for the children to have first-team players like Casper De Norre and Lukas Jensen visit and discuss such an important topic. This is what Millwall Community Trust is all about—making a real difference in the local community. The players' involvement today will have a lasting impact on these young minds."

Millwall Community Trust continues to support local schools through initiatives like Premier League Primary Stars, empowering children to thrive both on and off the pitch.
