Millwall Community Trust (MCT) ran Holiday, Activity and Food Camps (HAF) across Lewisham and Southwark over the summer holidays.
The Millwall Community Trust HAF programme runs during the school holidays and are a great opportunity for children to have fun, improve their skills and make new friends in a safe and structured environment.
The HAF camps are for children who receive free school meals, and every child received a free hot lunch every day.
MCT ran HAF camps at three different locations which included St Paul’s Sports Ground, Rotherhithe, The Lions Centre and the Rocky & Wrighty Arena.
Across the three sites, there was four sessions run per day including our Kelloggs Football Camps.
Every day there was 200 children across the camps with 200 free meals handed out and that ran for six weeks, with MCT engaging with 6,000 children and supplying 6,000 free meals.
Sean Daly, Millwall Community Trust’s CEO said: “We are delighted to have once again received funding from both Lewisham and Southwark Councils to deliver our Summer Holiday, Activity and Food (HAF) Camps.
“It’s so important that we continue to support our local communities who may struggle to provide for their children over the summer period. Being funded to run these sessions ensures that our local children do not miss out and are guaranteed a hot meal every day whilst taking part in fun, physical activities.
“We had a brilliant summer, and we are so pleased that all the children enjoyed themselves and are already looking forward to another holiday of fun for the children and young people of our local communities.”
