Millwall Lionesses Assistant Manager Jack Wisson gives his thoughts on The Lionesses 1-0 defeat against Dorking Wanderers on Sunday.
Millwall were edged out through a goal in the second half.
Wisson said: “I think over the balance of the first half, I would say we edged it. We hit the bar twice and we’ve had a one-on-one saved. In the second half, we expected a reaction from Dorking, they nullified where we were getting our success, which was pressing high”.
“They went more direct and the game was more a lot more even, had the wind and rain to contest with too. Obviously, to concede the goal in the way we did is obviously very disappointing”.
“We had a debrief about it in the dressing room after, the girls have got to take a collective responsibility just as much as individuals, whether it's marking or organising the setup”.
“If we'd come away with a point we would have been satisfied, we’ve been on this upward trajectory recently where points have been picked up so we can’t be too disheartened but our standards recently mean we feel disappointed.”
