Supporter of Millwall Community Trust Gianluca Sardi won the Talented Young Italians Awards 2024 yesterday evening at The Italian Embassy in London.

In this year's edition of the Awards, the panel awarded six people.

The awards aim to recognize the work of Italian citizens under the age of 40, who have a high visibility and responsibility role in the UK, who have an excellent CV and who have offered an outstanding contribution to the business development between Italy and the United Kingdom.

Gianluca Sardi said: “Some days ago, I won the "Talented Young Italian Awards 2024" (category "Industry and Commerce"), organized by the Talented Italians in the UK Association, by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the UK and by the Italian Embassy in London.

“This award aims to recognize the work of Italian citizens under the age of 40, who have high visibility and high responsibility roles in the United Kingdom, who have an excellent CV and who have offered an outstanding contribution to the business relationships between the UK and Italy.

“In the 2024 edition of the prize, there were six winners, one for each category. I am very proud to be the only Senior Lecturer to win the award and I am really honoured that the lecture I gave at the Millwall Community Trust about the impact of Millwall Football Club and of the Millwall Community Trust on the constitutional rights of individuals and communities was highlighted during the examination of my CV and during the awards ceremony at the Italian Embassy in London.

“I would like to dedicate this award to Sean Daly, James Berylson and to the amazing staff of the Millwall Football Club and of the Millwall Community Trust, that have always been unbelievably supportive towards me. We have the most hardcore, passionate and loyal fans in the whole country and I am always privileged to talk about the marvellous initiatives organised by Millwall FC and by its community trust in the academic world and beyond. What these two institutions do for the constitutional rights of local people and beyond (the right to health, the right to education and the right to employment to name but a few) is commendable to say the least. They are a credit to society.”

Sean Daly, MCT CEO said: “We would like to say a huge congratulations to Gianluca Sardi for his achievements.

“Gianluca’s support of MCT and Millwall Football Club is hugely appreciated."
