John Scarborough, MCT’s Education & Employability Manager said: “It was great to deliver another 16-24 employment job fair event within Millwall's dedicated 16-24 Youth Employability and IAG Hub for young people in the local community.
“It was a privilege to get key local employment stakeholders around the table to meet senior representatives from the DWP and EFL in the community to discuss local youth employment strategy.
“The creation of the Hub was both to provide a place for young people to want to come to and be supported but also for key employment stakeholders to be supported within the venue.
“Yesterday events were testament to that collaborative back drop that again have enabled local young people access local opportunities and be celebrated, supported and aspired on their individual employment journeys and great to see 100+ young people, partners and stakeholders attend on the day.”
Josephine Sheehan, Job Centre Plus’s South London District Employer & Partnership added: “On 9th January 2025 Millwall Community Trust and Job Centre Plus collaborated to bring together a Career Event for our young customers.
“This event was organised to give them the opportunity to talk with many exhibitors, ask questions and gain as much information to help them plan their journey into the world of work, there was various partners on site offering career advice , training, apprenticeships, and ongoing one-one support.
“The event was attended by 16-24 year old young people looking for various roles for example Graphic Designer, Sport related, IT and digital media.
“The feedback from those who attended was very good, the event was well received by all, and we were asked when is the next one.”
