Millwall Lionesses defeated Leatherhead Women 7-3 in The League Cup Quarter-Finals at St Paul’s Sports Ground on Sunday afternoon.

Ted Jones’ side now progress into the Semi-Finals of the competition to face Fulham next weekend with a venue to be confirmed.

Millwall started well and took the lead just ten minutes in - Ciara Watling with a stunning touch over the defender before unleashing a volley into the top corner.

Five minutes later, Maisie Joyce’s free-kick was well saved before Sophie Chapman saw an effort crash onto the crossbar before being cleared.

The visitors levelled halfway into the first-half as a one on one opportunity was taken.

But Watling who had already scored one screamer, scored another one thirteen minutes later, a free-kick from thirty yards out found the top right hand corner.

Leatherhead were proving tough opposition and equalised again before the hour mark as a nice interchange ended with the ball hitting the net.

Despite Millwall keeping the pressure up, the game went to extra time and Watling completed her hat-trick in the 105th minute, following a nice pass from Shannan Drewe.

The floodgates then opened as Watling got her fourth with a composed finish into the bottom corner.

Academy graduate Kayda Townsend came on for her second first-team appearance and scored a delicious overhead bicycle kick before making it six with a powerful effort!

Leatherhead would grab a consolation two minutes from time but Millwall made it seven and rounded off a frantic extra time period as a Drewe corner was flicked on by Olivia McGregor before hitting a visiting player and trickling in.
