Millwall Lionesses U18’s defeated Haringey 3-1 on Sunday evening in The London Cup Final.
Hosted at Barking FC - in front of a really good crowd, Millwall lifted the trophy to make it two London Cup Final victories in three years.
Goals from Kanita Throp, Dejaunel Bass and Quiana Dillon Bent secured the victory for Antonio Guarnera and Lee Williams side.
Manager Antonio Guarnera and Assistant Manager, Lee Williams said: “We are incredibly pleased for the club but especially for the girls. As a group they have all bought into the team ethic and worked incredibly hard. The girls are incredibly close and seeing them celebrate together was brilliant.
“It really did please us. We spoke at length before the game about the importance of a fast start, winning our battles and earning the right to play. Haringey are always a powerful side, so to match them from the first whistle was really pleasing.
“As a coach it’s always nice to share the goals around. Kanita has those strikes in her locker; it was a real screamer. I told Deja she was due a goal and her performance definitely deserved one. And we were all delighted for Quiana to come on and score. She hasn’t had a tonne of game time lately, but still showed that bit of class to tuck away the third.”
