Millwall Lionesses midfielder Maisie Joyce bagged a hat-trick on Sunday afternoon and was delighted with the 10-0 victory.

Ted Jones’ side beat Haywards Heath 10-0 on Sunday to return to winning ways.

Maisie, really good to get back to winning ways on Sunday, give us your thoughts on that match?

It was great to get back to winning ways and to score 10 goals to get our goal difference up in the league. We started quickly which is what we wanted and scored within the first few minutes. We didn’t want to let our foot off the gas. I thought we had some good spells and patterns of play but also could’ve scored more goals with the chances we created.

On a personal note, you must be delighted to get a hat-trick, just talk us through that?

Absolutely delighted from a personal perspective, I hadn’t scored in a while, so I was really pleased. The girls put the ball on a plate for me so I’m grateful to them too! I also joked with Ella before the game saying if I scored a hattrick she’d drive to football for the next two weeks, so I’m looking forward to that!

The squad has really stuck together after two tough defeats, can you sum up how it feels to get three points after those results?

The last few weeks have been tough, but we’ve stuck together and learnt a lot from those two games. I felt as though we needed that game to bring our confidence back. Scoring 10 goals with 7 different goal scorers is a credit to the girls for getting into the right areas and working hard in training.

A big match against Newhaven this Sunday as we look to make it back-to-back wins, what’s your thoughts going into that one?

It’ll be a tough game, only beating them 1-0 in the reverse fixture. We’ll need to start quickly and be switched on from the first minute. We know we’ll need to take our chances and be patient in our build up play. We’ll be going into the game with confidence after the win against Haywards Heath and hopefully get the 3 points!
