Millwall Football Club was delighted to host Governor-General of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Her Excellency Dame Marcella Liburd, at The Den for Saturday's Sky Bet Championship fixture against Portsmouth.
As part of an official visit to the United Kingdom to attend the investiture ceremony hosted by His Majesty King Charles III on 1st April, the club was honoured to welcome Her Excellency during her stay, and demonstrate some of the amazing work achieved in the local area alongside Millwall Community Trust.
"I'm so overwhelmed," Her Excellency told millwallfc.co.uk. "It's great to be here. "I'd like to thank Bryan and all the others who helped me get here.
"I'm so impressed with Millwall Community Trust and the work that is does, that really touched me, the way they help in poverty areas. All in all, it's been an amazing visit and I want to wish the team the very best!"
Mark Fairbrother, Managing Director at The Den, added: "It was an honour to welcome Her Excellency at her party from St Kitts & Nevis to The Den last weekend.
"A huge thanks goes to Bryan King for showcasing the fantastic work of Millwall Community Trust, most notably in Lewisham and Southwark - it was brilliant to be able to show them round the stadium and the Lions Centre alongside Sean Daly.
