Millwall Community Trust Employability & IAG Hub success stories: Lisa Nti.

The trust via it Employability HUB offers Employability and IAG support programmes for unemployed people of all ages and backgrounds free of charge. 

This support includes 1:1 employability mentoring support delivery of weekly targeted pre-employability skills Bootcamp programmes, industry sector workshops, job fairs and recruitment events as well as training and education support.

Lisa attended Job Centre Plus, Peckham where she was told about the Millwall Employability Hub via her job coach.

Lisa attended the CV workshop, where she gained insight to what employers look for in a CV.

After attending the employability Hub, Lisa had a 1:1 meeting with John Scarborough, where she discussed her goal to pursue a career in marketing and social media. 

Lisa was then told about Kai Bennett, who is the Media Officer at Millwall Community Trust, who she could shadow to gain some work experience.

Since working with Kai, Lisa has been working on improving her media skill set and will be gaining more experience by helping to cover Millwall Lionesses on a Matchday.

Genevieve Campbell, Job Coach at Job Centre Plus Peckham said: “Lisa is a tenacious individual who has shown nothing but commitment in her search for employment. 

“She is diligent in her pursuit to achieve her goal despite setbacks and lack of work experience. Lisa has embraced every opportunity to realise her desire and goal to work in Marketing. 

“I believe that Lisa has the acumen and work ethic to reach the pinnacle of success.”

Lisa Nti said: "After graduating I've struggled to find employment in the marketing sector,  due to a lack of work experience. Therefore I reached out to Job Centre Plus Peckham to help me with getting into full time employment."

"When I was told about the work shadowing opportunity, at the Millwall Community Trust, I was pleased that it will help me gain that industry experience that employers are looking for".

Kai Bennett, MCT’s Media Officer said: “Lisa is a pleasure to work with every week.

“I have seen clear progress in Lisa’s work and I’m really looking forward to continuing to work with Lisa.”

Ophelie Zahui, MCT’s Employability Mentor said: “I’m delighted to see Lisa’s progression that she has made.

“Lisa has been excellent in her dedication since coming to the trust and I’m looking forward to seeing her continue her journey into the world of media.”
