Millwall Lionesses midfielder Maisie Joyce delighted with recent form and adds excitement in camp ahead of FA Cup tie but full focus on Ashford Town first.

The Lionesses have won three in a row and host Ashford Town this Sunday before their FA Cup First Round tie against Cheltenham.

Three wins in three games after a 1-0 victory over Sport London E Benfica, you must be delighted with the form recently?

Absolutely, we all know we didn’t have the best start to the season, but the coaching staff and players have been working hard to rectify this, and we’ve definitely done that in the last couple of games. Benfica was a tough game for a number of reasons, but it just shows that even when we don’t perform at our best, we get results.

A really good season for yourself so far, some stunning strikes, what’s your assessment?

I’ve been really pleased with how I’ve started the season, I had a good preseason which has no doubt helped that. I’ve started a number of games and become more of a versatile player which has helped me gain confidence in myself. I’m also playing higher up the pitch, which has allowed me to get into the box and be more of a threat going forwards, hopefully more goals to come!

A chance to make it four wins in a row this Sunday against Ashford Town, thoughts going into that one?

We go in confident, off the back off a 7-1 win against them only a few weeks ago and a great overall team performance. If we continue to play the way we have been and take our chances, there is no doubt we can take the 3 points!

A chance to go into our FA Cup First Round game in really good form too, the side must be really looking forward to that?

Definitely, playing a team that we’ve never played before and are two tiers higher will no doubt be a challenge, but an exciting one. We’ve just got to believe in ourselves, we’re at home and have nothing to lose!
