NHS South East London Cancer Alliance visited Millwall’s Walking Football Programme on Friday to deliver a presentation around the importance of Lung Health Checks.

Millwall’s Walking Football Programme provides free open access walking football sessions for 48 weeks.

The Millwall Walking Football Club has run for over four years and has been successfully delivered in many different settings.

The service is currently being offered to people living in Southwark, Greenwich, Lambeth and Lewisham who are between the ages of 55 to 74 and have ever smoked, as they are at greater risk of lung cancer.

The team from the NHS explained that all participants are eligible and how to get an appointment.

Sean Daly, MCT CEO said: “I’d like to thank the team from the NHS for coming in to deliver a really important presentation to our Walking Football programme.

“The participants gained a real good insight and I know they will use the information provided to them to get checked.”
