Millwall Community Trust is proud to be supporting International Men’s Day 2025.

On November 19, International Men’s Day celebrates worldwide the positive value men bring to the world, their families and communities.

They highlight positive role models and raise awareness of men’s well-being. Our theme for 2025 is “Celebrating Men and Boys”.

  • Suicide: Men account for 75% of all suicides in the UK, with over 14 men dying by suicide daily. The male suicide rate in England is the highest it has been this century.
  • Mental health: Men are less likely to access psychological therapies, with only 36% of referrals to NHS talking therapies being for men.
  • Heart disease: In England, men accounted for 60% of hospital admissions for heart disease in 2023/24 and 50,626 men died from heart disease in 2023.
  • Cancer: Men have a 37% higher risk of dying from cancer overall and are 67% more likely to die from non-gender-specific cancers than women.
  • Obesity: In 2022, 67% of men in England were overweight or obese.
