Deptford Green Secondary School who are representing Millwall at the EFL Girls Cup have reached the nationals of the competition.
After winning the local tournament between schools at The Lions Centre in December, Deptford Green progressed on to the regional stages.
The next stage took place at Charlton Athletic’s Sparrow Lane yesterday where the side came second.
The team won seven, drew three and lost two of their twelve matches.
In the team was a former player from Millwall Lionesses Academy and a current player from Millwall’s Girls Player Performance Pathway.
Emily Poole, MCT’s Primary Stars & Schools Co-Ordinator said: “Congratulations to the girls who took part, every single one of you was excellent throughout the day.
“A special mention to Beth who was our top goal scorer and attends MCT’s Player Performance Pathway session.
“We are really excited for the next stage and are so pleased that everyone enjoyed themselves.”
