Millwall Community Trust’s (MCT) Military Veterans Football Programme welcomed Mentality Group to The Lions Centre on Saturday morning.
Prior to The Lions facing Sheffield United, MCT’s Military Veterans side in partnership with Military Veteran Football Club welcomed the visitors into The Lions Centre for a competitive but well spirited match.
Mentality Group was founded in 2019, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, by a small group of friends from the Westerham community in Kent.
As the world locked down, the need for genuine connection and mental health support became impossible to ignore. We saw too many people suffering in silence, too many stories of loss, and not enough safe spaces to talk, heal, and be heard.
They create and fund mental wellness events and real-life spaces where people can open up, connect, move, and find the support they need.
Following on from the match both sides headed up to the Royal British Legion Coffee Morning before heading to The Den as they received free tickets to watch the Championship clash.
It was great to welcome Mentality down to The Lions Centre and we would like to thank them for coming.
