Millwall Community Trust and Premier League Inspires hosted a SEND Careers Event on Thursday afternoon at The Lions Centre.
The event - that started at 10am and ran through until 2pm - was split up into two sessions.
Both sessions saw 40 children from local secondary schools attend where they had opportunities to speak to employers in various different industries to speak about opportunities and careers in those sectors.
Following on from this, the participants enjoyed a football session in the astroturf indoor facility where they were able to learn technical skills whilst having fun.
Millwall Lionesses duo Sydney Brooks-Hughes and Melissa Jones attended the event where they spoke to participants and employers around roles and found out more about the programme.
They then encouraged from the sidelines as the football session got underway before posing for photographs and handing out autographs to all who attended.
Eve van’t Hoff, MCT’s Premier League Inspires Officer said: “The event was a fantastic success, giving our students the opportunity to explore a wide range of careers and connect with inspiring local organisations.
“It was incredibly positive to see SEND students engaging confidently with employers and discovering new possibilities for their futures.
“We are very grateful to the providers who gave their time to attend and to the schools who brought their students along and helped make the day such a positive experience.
“We would also like to thank Millwall Lionesses players Melissa and Sydney who attended and we know the participants loved meeting them!”
