Millwall Community Trust’s Player Performance Pathway sessions will return the week commencing 7th September, providing young footballers with another opportunity to develop their skills and work towards reaching their full potential.

The programme is designed for young players and is delivered by FA and UEFA-qualified coaches, with sessions following an academy-based curriculum aligned with the coaching philosophy of Millwall FC Academy.

Players will work on key areas of the game, including passing, receiving, finishing and defending, while developing their confidence, decision-making and understanding of the game.

The Player Performance Pathway aims to bridge the gap between grassroots and academy football, helping to identify and nurture talented young players from across the local community. Sessions are designed to provide a genuine development pathway for players who demonstrate the ability and ambition to progress towards academy football.

The pathway has already helped provide opportunities for players to be identified by Millwall FC Academy. In 2025, the programme delivered 195 sessions, with six academy trials and one player signing recorded in MCT’s annual report.

The programme also continues to build strong links with academy opposition. In October 2025, MCT hosted Crawley Town for Player Performance Pathway fixtures from U8 through to U16 level, with Millwall FC Academy’s Head of Recruitment in attendance. One MCT participant was subsequently offered a Millwall FC Academy trial.

With sessions returning on 7 September, young players will once again have the chance to train in a positive, challenging environment while receiving high-quality coaching and working towards their individual development goals.
