When Olivia Coldrick joined Millwall Lionesses ahead of the 2025/26 season from Bromley Academy, she arrived as a young centre-back with plenty to look forward to, both on and off the pitch.
As part of her development with the Lionesses, Olivia began getting involved in player appearances with Millwall Community Trust. At first, she was quite shy and found speaking to people she didn’t know a little daunting. But the more appearances she attended, the more comfortable she became.
Over time, Olivia’s confidence grew. She began enjoying the opportunities to meet young people in the community, speak to supporters and represent the Lionesses away from the pitch.
Her commitment to the community was recognised when she was named PFA Community Champion, a proud moment in what had been a big change in confidence for the young defender.
Olivia Coldrick said: "The appearances have helped me develop as a person as well as a player.
“At the start I found it difficult to speak in front of people, especially in a new environment, but every appearance made it a little easier.
“Now I feel much more confident representing the Lionesses in the community.
“Becoming a coach with the trust has allowed me to expand my confidence even further, while also giving me the opportunity to help and inspire the younger generation.”
Her involvement with MCT has continued to grow since then. Olivia is now a casual coach with the Trust, working on its holiday camps and helping deliver activities for young people during the school holidays.
It’s a role that allows Olivia to use the confidence she has built through her own experiences to help others feel comfortable, get involved and enjoy sport.

"To now see her working with young people on our holiday camps is a great example of the impact these opportunities can have. Olivia is a fantastic role model for the next generation, and we’re really proud of everything she has achieved."
From being a shy young player at her first appearances to becoming a PFA Community Champion and MCT coach, Olivia’s journey shows the impact that giving young players opportunities within their community can have.
