Millwall FC first-team players Tristan Crama and Mihailo Ivanovic visited Millwall Community Trust’s Post-16 Academy at St Paul’s Sports Ground to deliver a special football masterclass.
The pair joined the Academy students on the pitch, working with the young players across a session focused on both attacking and defending.
Crama, who plays in defence, shared his experience and knowledge with the students during the defensive elements of the session, while Ivanovic worked with the group on the attacking side of the game.
The students had the opportunity to learn directly from two players currently competing at the highest level of the game, with the session focusing on key technical and tactical aspects of both sides of the pitch.
The Post-16 Academy provides young people aged 16-18 with the opportunity to combine their football development with education, helping them develop their technical, tactical and physical attributes alongside their studies.
The visit provided the students with a valuable insight into the demands of professional football, while allowing them to put the advice from Crama and Ivanovic into practice during the session.
Millwall Community Trust Football & Sports Development Manager Anthony Sands said: “It was fantastic to welcome Tristan and Mihailo to St Paul’s and see them working with our Post-16 Academy students. Having first-team players deliver a session gives the students an opportunity to learn directly from players who are experiencing the demands of professional football every day.
“The impact of visits like this goes beyond the session itself. It gives our young people something to aspire to and helps them understand what is required to progress, both on and off the pitch.
“The students were able to take on advice from Tristan and Mihailo, ask questions and then put what they had learnt into practice. These experiences are an important part of the development pathway we are creating for our young players, and we’re grateful to both players for giving up their time.”
