Our latest Employment Support programme finished on a high this week as seven learners completing the six week programme with a range of qualifications. The qualifications achieved included Level 1 Employability, Level 2 Customer Service, Safeguarding and Level 1 Industry Specific Qualifications in a range of sectors including admin, construction, and sports. Learners also undertook relevant work experience placements and have engaged with a range of employers. Samantha Vacciana, Employment Pathways Officer at MCT, said: “I am very proud to have worked with five different groups of learners this year on Millwall Community Trusts' Employment Support Programme. "Thanks to some of our brilliant referral partners (in particular JCP), we have been able to engage with 70 local, unemployed people and provide them with the tools to move on in their lives, especially in terms of finding work. "It’s been a team effort, and we have been fortunate to have dedicated and committed tutors, Classroom Assistants and very supportive colleagues, both at MCT and MFC who have facilitated the work experience element of the Programme. "We are also very grateful to Big Local Works, Bermondsey for all their support in terms of providing us with classroom space and refreshments! Overall, it’s been a really successful year, and we’re hoping to build on that success in 2019.” These are some of the things learners on our Employment Support programme have said: “The Programme has been everything I was promised it would be when I met Sam at the Job Centre, and a lot more. I had a great time on the course, it was all a positive experience.” “This Programme has helped me to focus on what it is I really want to do, thanks to our great tutor and also the support from the friendly and welcoming staff at MCT.” “I learnt so much on the Programme, and really enjoyed the work experience, which has led to me being offered part-time work at MFC. Thank you MCT!" We run several cohorts on our Employment Support programme throughout the year, here are the stats! The next cohort of our Employment Support programme is due to start on Monday 7th January.
