Last week, students from our post-16 academy programme headed off on the residential section of their National Citizen Service programme at Rock UK in Tonbridge, Kent. NCS is a four stage programme for 15-17 year olds, incorporating residential trips alongside community work and personal development, which allows participants to develop key career and employability skills, as well as social and communication skills. As part of the trip, students took part in activities including abseiling, archery and climbing alongside workshops to help them develop their future career plans. Sean Daly, Football Development Manager, said: "It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to take part in a range of challenging team building activities, as well as allowing them to think about and develop future career plans. "Our partnership with the NCS EFL Trust has allowed us to provide students on our Post-16 Academy with a range of experiences, enabling them to develop new skill sets which will help to open more doors for them in their future careers."
