Millwall Community Trust (MCT) were presented with a new football kit from Your Move in New Cross, after successfully winning a new kit from ‘Your Club Your Kit’.

Your Move, in partnership with EFL, set up a nationwide competition ‘Your Club Your Kit’ which gives grassroots football clubs, or school football teams across the country the chance to win free kits. Each team wins 13 shirts, including one for the goalie, shorts and socks.

Phil Cantell, Branch Manager for Your Move in New Cross commented; “Our local team have been delighted to present a new football kit to Millwall Community Trust who were successful in winning one of 130 kits that Your Move has been giving away following our Your Club, Your Kit competition. This is part of the exciting partnership we continue to have with the English Football League (EFL) which led Your Move to be its Official Supporter, for the second year running, as well as the EFL’s Official Communities Supporter. The aim being to help local Your Move teams, like ours, to establish even closer links with the communities in which we operate.

We know that football, like all sports, has been affected by the pandemic so we hope the recent presentation of the kit marks a positive step forward for the Trust, and for the players, and will instil even greater confidence and pride in them when they play. Our local team are certainly looking forward to seeing their progress.” 

Sean Daly, CEO of The Community Trust, said: “We’re delighted to have been picked to receive the kit. The Your Club, Your Kit competition is a great initiative! It helps support teams in the local community.

It was great to meet and speak to Phil, he seems really committed to helping the community, and we are already in talks about the different ways the branch can continue to support MCT. I’m excited to see where we go from here.”

To further help bring kit to the local community, MCT have also partnered up with the BBC to help children and families through the Kit out the Nation programme as part of the BBC’s Make a Difference campaign.
