Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Millwall Community Trust (MCT) were supporting staff at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.
The “ WE DO CARE” project consisted of engaging initiatives, and programmes to provide NHS workers from local hospitals opportunities for respite, MCT were ready to support staff in any way they could.
Sean Daly, Millwall Community Trust CEO, was presented the certificate by Jo Peck, Divisional Director of Nursing, at University Hospital Lewisham this week.
He said: “I’m happy to receive this award on behalf of MCT. The pandemic has been a tough time for all. NHS staff worked tirelessly, and MCT did what we could to support staff’s wellbeing throughout.
It’s fantastic to hear that the outcome of the programmes was positive and helped staff members. We tried to put on a variety of things. From yoga sessions, tea / coffee sessions, ZOOM workshops, Financial support sessions to first-team players reading bedtime stories to the children of NHS staff. There was something to help a different need.”
