This week is national Child Safety Week, with the theme Safety in mind.

Child Safety Week is an annual community education campaign run by the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT), acting as a catalyst for thousands of safety conversations and activities UK-wide. The week also aims to raise awareness of the risks of child accidents and how they can be prevented.

In football, The FA is committed to safeguarding children across the game in England. From ensuring best practice and recognizing poor practice to understanding how to report concerns quickly and effectively, we believe that making football fun, enjoyable and safe is everyone’s responsibility.

England Football Learning – The FA’s education arm – has recently launched a free online course for parents and carers. The 30-minute course aims to create greater awareness of the safeguarding role parents and carers can play within football.
