He went on to lead on community engagement programmes as Community Development Projects Manager for Southwark Council and again, continuing his relationship with MCT.
On his new role, Jason Vincent said: “My role is to work across the trust and club to ensure we are meeting our equality, diversity & inclusion (EDI) objectives set out by the EFL, FA & Premier League as well as our commitment to continue to work as one to ensure that trust and club is inclusive, diverse, and family friendly.
“As a club and trust we are dedicated to listening, educating, and raising awareness of EDI hence in 2021 we created the Millwall Equality Steering Committee which I chair. Our group is made up from fans, club and trust staff and independent advisors with EDI expertise to provide support and guidance to the trust and club.
“The committee meets monthly, and its responsibility is to drive all initiatives, projects and strategies relating to Millwall’s broad and comprehensive anti-discrimination efforts. We will continue to test our Equality Action Plan and every effort will be made to remain an industry leader.
“We have engaged and delivered a variety of successful EDI activities such as United for Change, ‘Hear Hate, Don’t Hesitate’, Millwall Lionesses, Millwall Romans, Rainbow Laces, ‘Fans United’ Millwall’s Fan Diversity Scheme, Community Coffee Mornings at the Den, Muslim Athletes Charter among others as well as attending local schools to educate.
“We are straddled between Lewisham and Southwark with some of the country’s most diverse areas and residents. Its vital we continue to understand residents needs and where we can support, promote and educate EDI. We will continue to work with both Lewisham and Southwark Councils in providing support.”
