Millwall Community Trust (MCT) Coach Paul Harbert has been recognised as MCT’s Community Captain.
Paul’s honour comes as part of the Premier League’s ‘More Than a Game’ campaign, which is raising awareness about the massive community impact that football has across England.
The award was presented to Paul prior to Millwall’s game against Sheffield Wednesday by Millwall Chief Executive Steve Kavanagh along with MCT CEO Sean Daly.
Paul serves as the Youth Director of Football at Fisher FC, a scout for Millwall FC, and a coach in various programs like Millwall's Player Performance Pathway and PL Kicks. His multifaceted role extends beyond the pitch, even including cleaning the Premier League's Office windows in Waterloo during his day job.
Paul works across both Millwall Community Trust’s Premier League Kicks programme and Football and Sports Development programmes.

Leading sessions and upskilling coaches, he significantly impacts the community, making football accessible and enjoyable for local youngsters.
“Born and raised in Bermondsey, his lifelong connection to Millwall extends beyond being a scout to active involvement in community initiatives. This case study explores why Paul Harbert deserves recognition as a community champion, showcasing his commitment to nurturing local talent and fostering a love for the sport among the youth.
“Paul grew up in Bermondsey, developing a deep affinity for Millwall. Attending matches regularly, he redirected his football journey into coaching after realising professional playing might not be his path. This shift aimed to positively influence local children through coaching and community involvement."
