Millwall Community Trust hosted another successful Jimmy Mizen cup this morning.

Seven teams were involved in the yearly event, with Childeric Primary School winning the competition.

Each school played each other before the top four sides played in the semi-finals.

Childeric Primary School played Holy Trinity in the final, with the former winning 2-0.

All the children were presented with medals by Barry Mizen and Millwall tickets to watch Millwall play Birmingham this Saturday.

MCT CEO, Sean Daly said: “It was another great Jimmy Mizen cup at the MCT.

“Thank you to all the schools that participated and congratulations to Childeric for winning the competition.

“We are really looking forward to seeing everyone at the Birmingham City match where all the children will be taken on the pitch at half time.

“Finally, it was great to see Barry Mizen and we are really looking forward to Jimmy Mizen day this Saturday.”

Barry Mizen added: “We’ve had a wonderful couple of hours watching the Jimmy Mizen Cup competition put on by the Millwall Community Trust.

“As always the day went really smoothly and we are forever grateful to Millwall Community Trust for what they do. We saw some fantastic football but the most important thing was the children were having really good fun.”

Emily Poole, Primary Stars and Schools Coordinator said: “The tournament went really well, the children really enjoyed it and all walked out with smiling faces.

“There was some excellent talent and cracking goals scored. Well done to everyone who participated.”
