Millwall Romans have been crowned London Unity League Champions for the 2023/24 campaign.

Their 4-1 win against East End Phoenix last week meant ensured they secured their ninth league title.

The London Unity League is an amateur football league based in the capital, designed to allow LGBTQI+ friendly clubs to come together and play football.

The Romans have been competing for top spot throughout the campaign alongside three other sides, Charlton Valiants, Stokey FC and Titans Two Brewers in what has been a very competitive season which went down to the final day.

Millwall Romans Manager Paul Loding said: “I am immensely proud of the club and its achievements this season. It has been an incredible campaign with Millwall Pride winning half of their games and reaching the semi-final of the LUL Plate. 

“Additionally, the Romans have been crowned champions of the London Unity League, triumphing in the LUL Cup final against Charlton and reaching the semi-final in the GFSN Cup. Our club continues to expand, providing a safe and inclusive space for LGBT footballers. 

“A heartfelt thanks goes to the Millwall Community Trust for their invaluable help and support throughout this season.”
