Millwall Community Trust Women's and Girls' Football/Sport Ambassador Aidomo Emakhu scored as The Lions were defeated 2-1 by Nottingham Forest at The Pinatar Arena.

The Irishman netted from the bench, halving Forest's lead, following goals from Chris Wood and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Premier League side started well - new signing Elliot Anderson looked to curl home with his right-foot, but was denied by a strong Danny McNamara block.

Former Millwall loanee Wood broke the deadlock 16 minutes into the match. Nico Dominguez cushioned a header down for the striker to take aim and score, despite Joe Bryan's valiant attempts to get in the way of the strike.

Lukas Jensen was alert to deny Erik Moreira on the cusp of half-time. The full-back overlapped down the right and attempted to drill the ball across The Lions 'keeper, but the Dane managed to stick out a leg to stop the strike.

Forest quickly added a second goal after the break. Ryan Yates pounced onto a loose ball and slotted Hudson-Odoi through on goal, who did the rest and finished with aplomb 1v1.

Duncan Watmore had a golden chance to pull one back on the hour mark. Esse electrified the crowd with a dazzling run and a fine forward pass to Watmore, who did well to hold off his marker and shoot - but the effort was inches too high and went behind via the crossbar.

The Lions next move of quality resulted in a goal. Esse's switch to Bryan created space to attack, and the left-back played a wonderful ball in between two defenders - allowing the fresh Emakhu to gallop behind the defence and sweep the ball through the 'keeper's legs.

Murray Wallace almost crafted a moment of magic to net a late equaliser for Neil Harris' side. After linking up with fellow countryman Kevin Nisbet, the defender cut inside and looked to curl a right-footed strike past Matz Sels from 20-yards - forcing the shot-stopper to scramble back to his line and tip over.

From the resulting corner, Jake Cooper had a half-a-chance to head home, but the delivery was a touch too high and he could only nod over the target.
