Millwall Lionesses were defeated 3-0 against Ebbsfleet United in the 2nd round qualifying of the Women’s FA Cup.

Despite a really positive performance in Ted Jones’ first game in charge, Fleet took their chances in what was a very even contest.

Millwall started the better of the two sides, controlling possession and working the ball into the wide areas.

But the visitors took the lead just after the twenty-minute mark. An effort from inside the box found its way into the back of the net.

That didn’t dampen The Lionesses spirit who nearly levelled immediately as Lucy Jellett’s effort went just wide.

After the restart Ebbsfleet doubled their lead with a brilliant dipping strike finding the top corner.

Millwall continued to push for a way back into the match but on a day where they did everything but score Ebbsfleet found a third deep into injury time to wrap up the victory.

Next up for Millwall Lionesses is a trip to Ebbsfleet where Ted Jones’ side will be looking to get off the mark in the league.
