Last month We had the opportunity to once again welcome the Southwark Stars teams to the Lions Centre for a fantastic evening of football.
The Millwall Championship and League 1 teams played a series of exciting matches against the Southwark Stars teams. All of the matches were played with great skill and sportsmanship, and both teams showed tremendous effort throughout the evening.
The games were closely contested, with tight results, demonstrating the strong competitive spirit of everyone involved. In the end, the Millwall Championship team emerged victorious in three of the matches, while the Southwark Stars League 1 team claimed the same number of wins.
Importantly, the event also highlighted the key values of playing fair, having fun, and respecting one another. These values are essential not only in sport but in life, ensuring that everyone enjoys the game and leaves with a sense of achievement, regardless of the final score. We look forward to more events like this, where sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect take center stage.
Also, the Adult Millwall Team had the opportunity of visiting our friends of Camden Town FC and Evermore FC for matches at the Regent's Park Sunday League. As mentioned previously, these trips are a fantastic way to boost our players' travel training skills and give them valuable experience outside of their regular environment.
In the league, our team faced some very challenging matches. While we created plenty of opportunities, unfortunately, we weren't able to convert many into goals. However, one of the highlights was our remarkable comeback against Camden Town, where we went from 3-1 down to 3-3, with Dante scoring a hat trick. We also faced losses, including a 2-1 defeat to Everson Road and a 2-0 loss to a local Pan team that are great to improve.
Despite the results, we are incredibly proud of the team, not just for the moments of great football on display, but most importantly for their outstanding behavior while traveling. Their respect for the game and one another truly stood out. These experiences reinforce the importance of playing fair, having fun, and showing respect, both on and off the field.
We are hopeful that, in the near future, we will have the opportunity to invite these teams to the Lions Centre to reciprocate the fantastic hospitality they showed us during our visit.'
