Millwall Community Trust's Equality & Diversity Ambassador Wes Harding and Daniel Kelly visited Twin Oaks Primary School this afternoon as part of the Premier League Primary Stars Programme.
Premier League Primary Stars is a national initiative that uses the popularity of football and professional clubs like Millwall FC to inspire children to be active, develop essential life skills, and engage in learning.
The programme is delivered by the Premier League Charitable Fund, which focuses on creating lasting positive impacts in sports, health, and education for children, young people, and their communities.
The session at Twin Oaks Primary School was led by MCT’s Primary Stars and Schools Coordinator, Emily Poole, with support from Wes Harding and Daniel Kelly.
The focus was on positive behaviour and having respect for one other.
Both Harding and Kelly shared personal insights on the importance of positive behaviour and explained why it is necessary in their profession.
Following on from this, the participants played in a ‘numbers’ game with Harding and Kelly selecting and managing their sides.
They also held a Q&A session where the children had the chance to ask the players questions they had always wanted to know.
Emily Poole, MCT’s Primary Stars & Schools Co-Ordinator praised the event: “It was an excellent afternoon for the children to have first-team players Wes Harding and Daniel Kelly visit their school and talk through such an important topic.
“It just shows what Millwall Community Trust is all about, helping in the local area, and the players doing this will make such an impact on these children.
“It’s just another benefit when your school decided to partner with Millwall Community Trust.”
