Firstly, I would just to like to say thank you for your support this season.
Sunday 4th May saw us achieve a record attendance at the Den for our final fixture in the London South East Regional Women’s Premier Division v Ashford United.
It was a fantastic day enjoyed by our fans, families and people coming to the Den for the first time. We look forward to welcoming newcomers back as well as familiar faces.
As I reflect on this season (my first with the Lionesses) my gratitude and thanks go to our amazing coaching management team and of course the indomitable (I’m taking this one from Cameroon) Lionesses squad who have given so much on and off the field be it community, fans and sponsors.
As a collective each player should be proud of their efforts, dedication, and commitment to being a Lioness throughout this season. I know from my conversations with fans, families of the players and management team have expressed the same sentiments to me.
We have lots to look forward on as we continue to build and learn lessons from the season, improve the squad and put in the hard work across all areas of our operation. The recent announcement of our partnership with Eleven Media Sports is a clear endorsement of that ambition. Rest assured we are continuing to explore further opportunities to help us grow further in every way.
A big shout out and congratulations to our Girls Academy from coaching management to players across our U12, U14,U16, U18s.
Another successful season for the development of the Girls Academy where fourteen (14) past & present Academy players have played and started for the Lionesses 1st Team with three (3) players making their debuts as starters.
The integration of our talented girls academy pipeline into the first team is very much at the heart of our forward vision.
In a nutshell Millwall Lionesses and Girls Academy - Season 2024/2025:
- Millwall Lionesses first-team amassed 31 points just one point of their record in the London and South East Regional Women’s League
- Millwall Lionesses made it to the semi-final of the league cup and played two matches at The Den, with the second one being a record-breaking crowd of 798 since the reform in 2019.
- Millwall Lionesses U18’s were crowned London Cup Winners as well as winning their league too with a 6-2 victory against Welling.
- Millwall Lionesses U16’s came second in their league, losing just one game in a really tightly contested division.
- Millwall Lionesses U14’s have been confirmed as JPL League Champions, losing just once across the 2024/25 campaign.
- Millwall Lionesses U12’s made it to the semi-finals of the JPL Cup semi-finals, narrowly losing 2-1 against Aston Villa
I will be in close contact throughout the off season with coaching management and directors of the trust & club to continue the work towards fulfilling our ambitions and vision.
Finally, I would like to thank the players who have left the club for their hard work and dedication throughout the campaign and we wish you all the best for the future.
Thank you for your support and positivity.
