Millwall Community Trust (MCT) and QPR in the Community Trust joined forces on Saturday to run an anti-discrimination workshop at Loftus Road prior to the Championship clash.
From 17-27 October, the EFL is running its annual Together Against Racism campaign to highlight the work of the League and its 72 member Clubs to combat racism and build stronger, more united communities.
During the campaign, many have been running anti-discrimination workshops as part of their ongoing work in this space with QPR in the Community Trust and Millwall Community Trust joined together in holding a joint workshop ahead of their Club’s meeting at Loftus Road on Saturday.
The activation was held for community participants from both Clubs, uniting people from diverse backgrounds to learn, share experiences, and build solidarity.
Eight individuals from each Club learned of the Equality Act 2010, looking at protected characteristics and the different forms of racism, as well as the impact of allyship and importance of calling out discrimination whenever and wherever it occurs.
Joubin Sarrami, MCT’s Community Manager said: “It was really great to attend QPR in the Community Trust on Saturday and work together on such an important activation.
“All participants in attendance engaged and shared personal thoughts on their communities.
“Everyone in attendance on the day thoroughly enjoyed themselves and left the day with a better understanding of the Equality Act.”
