Headline sponsor of Millwall Community Trust (MCT), Wiggett Group have donated coats for MCT’s Donate a Coat initiative this Christmas.

Wiggett Group were announced as MCT’s headline sponsors in October, and it sees the company work with the Trust on a series of community initiatives varying of different trust programmes across Football & Development, Community and Education and Employability programmes.

With more than 40 years of experience, Wiggett Group are one of the most established compliance companies in the UK, with an excellent proven track record as Social Housing Experts in Property Services. To ensure a high level of operational focus, Wiggett are centred around three operating divisions – Electrical compliance, fire safety and access control and security.

As temperatures plunge this winter, life gets harder for people living on the streets and for those living below the poverty line who are pushed into the position of choosing whether to heat or eat – that’s where a coat donation can help.

The cost-of-living crisis is hitting household incomes and is likely to push more people into poverty, while the surging energy bills behind the issue may make it harder than ever to keep warm this winter.

When the coats are donated to MCT, the trust will then donate them to Crisis UK.

Sean Daly, MCT CEO said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Reece and his team at Wiggett Group for their incredible donations.

“This is a really important initiative and is exactly what both MCT and Wiggett Group are all about, serving our local community.

“All the coats that are donated will be hugely appreciated by Crisis UK who will then distribute to those who need it most.”

Reece Wiggett, CEO at Wiggett Group added: “Wiggett Group were proud to support Millwall Community Trust’s winter coat appeal for Crisis UK.

“As temperatures drop and more people face the difficult reality of choosing between heating and eating, we wanted to do whatever we could to help keep someone warm this winter.

“Our staff kindly brought in coats they no longer use, and we collected them to donate to the cause. We were grateful to hand them over to MCT, knowing they will go directly to people who need them most.”
