Millwall Lionesses visited Age UK, Southwark and Lewisham on Friday afternoon to take part in their Christmas party.

Age UK are a local, self-funded charity and work hard to empower, connect and change the lives of older and vulnerable people across the boroughs.

The team champion the rights and wellbeing of older and vulnerable people, ensuring that life is full of opportunity - and that ageing doesn’t impact our ability to live safely.

Eight Lionesses including Olivia Coldrick, Sydney Brooks-Hughes, Sharna Giordani, Tiana Edwards, Jess Edwards, Kanita Throp, Kayda Townsend and Toni-Anne Bussey took part in the festive fun.

They were accompanied by Millwall Lionesses General Manger Jason Vincent who organised the visit alongside Katrina Jinadu – Health Living and Learning Service Manager at Age UK Lewisham & Southwark.

On arrival, the players greeted participants and talked about their plans for Christmas as well as having photos with them.

Following this, The Lionesses helped to serve their Christmas lunch and assisted participants with going up to get their food.

All involved on the day had a great time and we Millwall Lionesses would like to thank the staff at Age UK for making the visit possible.

Jason Vincent, Millwall Lionesses General Manager said: “Age UK does such fantastic work and after learning what they do for their participants we were really keen to visit.

“It was brilliant to see Millwall Lionesses players visit them and take part in their Christmas party with so many people having fun.

“Thank you to the staff at Age UK for making the visit possible and to the eight players who were excellent all afternoon.”
