Millwall Community Trust is proud to be supporting Greenwich Powerchair Lions FC.
Greenwich Powerchair FC is run by a small charity (South London Special League (SLSL), who aim to improve people’s health and wellbeing through sport.
SLSL were founded in April 2004 and started GPFC in 2009. They are a chartered standard club and currently have 14 members.
The club provides weekly coaching sessions for young, disabled children to learn the skills of powerchair football. The sessions are free to attend.
One of their previous players has returned this month as an assistant coach/player mentor. Kyle Alexander started at the club when it first began - at the age of eight - and made his debut for England in the 2017 World Cup aged 16.
He is currently still playing in both the National League and South-East Regional League Division One, as well as representing England in the second team.
Millwall Community Trust will support the charity with kits and fundraising opportunities.
Jason Vincent, Millwall Community Trust’s EDI Lead said: “We are delighted to partner with Greenwich Lions Powerchair FC.
“This is a great opportunity to work closely together and support their development and widen participation of members.
“We will also work with the members to promote powerchair football locally, regionally and nationally.”
